Plan Your Long Island Beach Visit

Choose a beach and check the access arrangements for your visit. A beach listing is a starting point for planning, rather than confirmation of current entry or swimming conditions.

Confirm entry and parking

Check the managing organization’s information for parking availability, entry fees, passes, residency requirements, and opening times for your intended date.

Check swimming information

Look for current swimming notices, supervised areas, and lifeguard schedules. Confirm conditions with the beach operator and read notices when you arrive.

Plan the route to the water

Ask about the route from parking, boardwalks, sand access, restrooms, and any beach-access equipment you need. Our accessibility planning page has more questions to help prepare.

Keep vehicle access separate

If you plan to drive on a beach, use the dedicated 4×4 beach-access guide and permit finder. A parking pass or a beach listing does not establish permission to drive on the sand.
