Lifeguard Hours & Beach Rules:

Lifeguards are on duty during peak season to ensure the safety of beachgoers. For Cedar Beach Main, lifeguard coverage begins Memorial Day weekend and continues through Labor Day. Cedar Beach West lifeguard hours run from July 4th to Labor Day on weekends only. To keep the beach safe and enjoyable, visitors must follow the beach regulations, including no pets, no fires, and no drones. Additionally, the beach provides a Mobi Mat and a handicap-accessible beach wheelchair to ensure that everyone can enjoy the shoreline.

Cedar Beach Nature Center & Educational Programs:

Cedar Beach is home to the Mount Sinai Marine Environmental Stewardship Center (MESC), an educational hub aimed at fostering a love and understanding of the natural environment. The center features interactive displays, living aquariums, an outdoor touch tank, and a submarine room with touch-screen monitors for an animated view of marine life in Long Island Sound.

Visitors can take guided tours, enjoy nature walks along the 700-foot boardwalk, or learn about local plants and wildlife through interpretive signs. Cedar Beach offers family-friendly environmental programs, making it a great spot for both education and recreation.
